Russia Vs Lebanon

Lets begin with my hometown Lebanon the country of Shawarma and bad roads.

The country Lebanon even though many cultures have passed through it yet it only was able to obtain its own independence on 1943. A few cultures that have passed through the lands of the country Lebanon are:
  • The Phoenicians
  • The Babylonians
  • The Persians
  • The Macedonians
  • The Romans
  • The Ottomans
Lebanon was a very promising country in its early days. It was named the lighthouse of the Arabs. however, internal conflicts caused the country to face a struggle that lasted years in a form of a civil war that regressed the country Lebanon in ways another country would crumble if faced, yet Lebanon as a country that also has the nickname of Phoenix has risen up from the grave and returned in shocking the world by his outstanding contribution to many global movements.

Of the many things Lebanon is famous in Lebanon is most famous for his cuisine especially its appetizers course.

Mezze:

The Mezze is a Lebanese specialty that is a selection of small dishes served to accompany alcoholic drinks. Examples of the drinks and plates are Arak with the side dishes of Arayes Kafta and Batata bil Kizbara and Fattet Hommos and many more.

Tabbouleh:

Tabbouleh is a Levantine vegetarian dish traditionally made of tomatoes, finely chopped parsley, mint, bulgur, and onion, and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, and salt. Some variations add garlic or lettuce, or use couscous instead of bulgur. In Lebanon every household has it's own variation of tabbouleh. However, the main ingredients stay constant and no family reunion passes without a tabbouleh without being devoured completely.

Putting the Lebanese cuisine aside one of the things that make Lebanon a different country from any other country in the world is that its presence in the center of the new world has made it the rope that connects Africa with Asia and both Asia and Africa with Europe. Thus, throughout the generations at least 5 cultures have passed through the soils of Lebanon bringing with them all of their tradition arts clothing and ideologies. whether the culture survived or not doesn't matter since every single one of them has put its mark or lets say its fingerprint in the country known today as Lebanon and that is obvious in Lebanon. Lebanon has a lot of ancient building and castles and sites present for tourists and Lebanese people to come and see. Some of these sites are:

The Castle of Baalbek:

Baalbeck, Lebanon's greatest Roman treasure, can be counted among the wonders of the ancient world. The largest and most noble Roman temples ever built, they are also among the best preserved. The Romans had a very keen eye on the artistic aspect of architecture and building since if visited the Baalbek castle would have every single rock stone and floor tile created in some kind of way the resembles the Romans' way of creating art. Archaeologists are till this day baffled on how these monsters of monuments where created.

Jeita grotto:

Jeita grotto... the jewel of Lebanon jeita grotto is is a system of two separate, but interconnected, karstic limestone caves spanning an overall length of nearly 9 kilometers. Moreover the cave was discovered by excavators in the mid 19 century. The two caves offer stunning images of waterfalls and limestone and amazing flora. Moreover, Jeita grotto is ranked in the top 14 of the 7 wonders of the world.

It also contains a filling that varies through every chef sometimes it is vegetables and other times it is mashed potatoes yet at the same time this dish is 100% full of taste.

Just don't mess with Russian vodka.

Russian stereotypes:

  • Russian ladies are submissive and just cook a lot: Most Russian women would knock their husbands out cold if any one of them tried to lay a hand on them.
  • Russia is basically an ice cube: it is cold in Russia yet at the same time Russians do have warm beautiful summers.

Comparing Lebanon and Italy      Lebanon is the country where I have lived my whole life. It is located at the crossroads between the Arab world and the Mediterranean Basin, and as such it shares many similarities with other Mediterranean countries, like Spain, Greece and Italy . This is due to a common History those countries share, and consequently close cultures.      To start off, it would be interesting to give some basic information: according to recent statistics, Lebanon is 30 times smaller than Italy, and its population is currently 10 times less. But if we dwelve deeper into their respective cultures, we would be likely to find many similarities.   1- Language:    The Lebanese are known for being very efficient at learning languages. The average Lebanese can speak up to 3 languages: Arabic, French and English. Some are also fluent in Spanish, Italian, or German. Italians mostly speak Italian (97%), and a great majority of the population doesn't speak Englis

Intercultural Communication: Lebanon VS the United States

Rim Karame Maryah Kulaylat April 18, 2018     Comparing         Lebanon and         the  United               States         We chose to compare Lebanon and the United states because we’ve been to both countries. It’s interesting to compare these two countries because the United States is one of the most advanced first world countries whereas Lebanon is still considered a third world country. Languages In the United States of America, the mother language is English and most people only speak this language since it’s the most dominant language in the world nowadays so it's not necessary for Americans to speak other languages. Which is interesting compared to Lebanon where there are three spoken languages: Arabic, English and French. That is because Lebanon is an Arab country therefore Arabic is the mother language spoken by all categories of people. Also, Lebanon was dominated by France for a long period of time so the French language spread t
