Its bordering countries are Guinea and Liberia in the west, Burkina Faso and Mali in the north, and Ghana in the east. The Gulf of Guinea (Atlantic Ocean) is located south of Ivory Coast.

Languages
Spanish is the most popular language spoken in Colombia, however, it varies from the
traditional Spanish language spoken in Spain and other Spanish-speaking nations. There are
also regional Spanish dialects spoken in different regions of the country. The Spanish language
spoken in Colombia is characterized by an almost musical intonation and clear pronunciation.
Spanish slang is also very popular in Colombia and is often used in popular culture. In addition,
there are several other languages spoken by the Colombians. 65 of these minor languages are
Amerindian in nature.

Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, is the city with the third biggest French speaking population anywhere in the world. However, a little over three-quarters of the population is of indigenous ethnicity. This diversity has resulted in a large number of indigenous languages spoken throughout the country. In addition to these indigenous languages, researchers estimate that approximately 3 million individuals speak a foreign language. These languages may be other African indigenous tongues or languages from non-African countries, such as Vietnam, Spain, and Lebanon.

Sports
Football, cycling and roller skating are the most popular sports in Colombia. The Government of Colombia sponsors numerous individuals and teams nationally and internationally through the Ministry of Culture to enable sportspeople to represent Colombia in competition. Côte d’Ivoire’s national soccer team, Les Éléphants (The Elephants) won the 1992 African Cup of Nations and again in 2015, both by beating Ghana on penalties. Fun facts
Colombia’s second city Medellin was once the murder capital of the world with 17 murders
every day in 1991. It has since undergone a renaissance and is now one of the country’s main
cultural hubs.

Yamoussoukro which is the political capital of Cote d’Ivoire is home of the Basilica, in full
Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro Basilica. It is the second largest Christian church in
the world.

Benefits of intercultural communications
Colombian culture is very similar to a lot of other Latin American countries, with a few special
elements that make it unique. On the whole, Colombian are generally fun-loving, friendly and
happy-go-lucky in outlook; an attitude reflected by the country’s consistently high ranking in
global surveys on levels of happiness.
The diversity of culture in Côte d’Ivoire is truly remarkable, with over 60 indigenous ethnic
groups each with their own unique traditions. Different regions of the country have distinct
music, art, festivals, and languages.

Impediments of intercultural communications
The geographical makeup of Colombia, with its treacherousness of the terrain and sheer variety of climates, made communication and travel very difficult and therefore fostered regionalism. Additionally, there is a huge gap between the poor and the rich.

Internal displacement was a problem in Côte d’Ivoire. Conflict and displacement in Côte d’Ivoire are linked to competition for political power, the economic downturn, and a corresponding increase in poverty in a country that had previously enjoyed a comparatively high standard of development.

Comparing Lebanon and Italy      Lebanon is the country where I have lived my whole life. It is located at the crossroads between the Arab world and the Mediterranean Basin, and as such it shares many similarities with other Mediterranean countries, like Spain, Greece and Italy . This is due to a common History those countries share, and consequently close cultures.      To start off, it would be interesting to give some basic information: according to recent statistics, Lebanon is 30 times smaller than Italy, and its population is currently 10 times less. But if we dwelve deeper into their respective cultures, we would be likely to find many similarities.   1- Language:    The Lebanese are known for being very efficient at learning languages. The average Lebanese can speak up to 3 languages: Arabic, French and English. Some are also fluent in Spanish, Italian, or German. Italians mostly speak Italian (97%), and a gre...

Similarities and differences between the Lebanese and Canadian

I have lived in Canada and Lebanon for numerous years and as such, I've noticed numerous similarities as well as differences between both cultures. For instance,  in Canada, teenage independence is much higher than in Lebanon. As a teenager of 16 years of age, you're relied upon to get a job and not depend on your parents, while in Lebanon, teenagers cannot get a job until they reach 18years of age and are expected to stay with their parents until they get married. In addition, Canada is a much more organised country with a much better organised system. Lebanon, on the other hand, somehow manages to stay afloat in corruption and chaos. Last but not least, the Canadian culture is much more open to acceptance of people of different cultures, nationality and religion. The Lebanese culture however, needs to take great strides to accept others of different religion and nationality as they takes these aspects of oneself way too personal. However, even with many differences, t...
