                                                             Lebanon vs London

            Lebanon:
I have spent my entire life living in Lebanon and never has a day gone by where I do not wish I was living here. Lebanon is filled with fun activities and culture and tradition that is so strong that helped grow a bond that ties us Lebanese people together. we share ideas and language and forms of communication that only the people of lebanon can understand.

Now one of my most favorite things about lebanon is the food!
Lebanese food is my all time favorite, it immediately brightens up my mood and makes me happier. food brings people together and plays an important role in gatherings and outings. Lebanon is knows for tabbouleh and "mashewe", as well as hummus.

another important thing in lebanon is the sightseeings. we have beautiful places in lebanon that need to be visited and viewed.  zaarour, chekka, Tripoli. tannourine, Baalbak, all those is amazing places that should be seen.

all these places create a sacred bond between the person and the country lebanon.

Culture:
Lebanon has long been known for its high-quality book publishing. A flourishing film industry produces high-quality films. A revival of folk art, music, and dance began in the late 1960s. The national folk dance of Lebanon is the debki, a line dance. People hold hands and step and stomp to the beat of a small drum called a derbekki. Belly dancing is also popular.

                                                        LONDON

Food:
Londons food is different than the food in lebanon. They have  fish & chips, jellied eels, pie & mash with parsley liquor, boiled beef & carrots with pease pudding, tripe & onions. Roly-poly pudding with custard for afters. they are also known for their tea and biscuits.

Sightseeings:
everything in London is in walking distance, when I travel there I barely use taxis and any from of transportation except the metro.

The London eye: One of the world’s largest Ferris Wheel, the London Eye is also considered as one of the most popular tourist attractions in the United Kingdom, and probably, also in the world.  the London Eye, located on the south bank of river Thames, is not only a huge Ferris Wheel, but also the tallest cantilevered observation in the world. In a way, this could be true as it offers the highest viewing point in the city of London.

Big Ben: Big Ben is the name given to the bell in the clock tower. The tower is attached to the Houses of Parliament and was built so that people could see the time (during an era when most people didn't own watches).

Comparing Lebanon and Italy      Lebanon is the country where I have lived my whole life. It is located at the crossroads between the Arab world and the Mediterranean Basin, and as such it shares many similarities with other Mediterranean countries, like Spain, Greece and Italy . This is due to a common History those countries share, and consequently close cultures.      To start off, it would be interesting to give some basic information: according to recent statistics, Lebanon is 30 times smaller than Italy, and its population is currently 10 times less. But if we dwelve deeper into their respective cultures, we would be likely to find many similarities.   1- Language:    The Lebanese are known for being very efficient at learning languages. The average Lebanese can speak up to 3 languages: Arabic, French and English. Some are also fluent in Spanish, Italian, or German. Italians mostly speak Italian (97%), and a gre...

Similarities and differences between the Lebanese and Canadian

I have lived in Canada and Lebanon for numerous years and as such, I've noticed numerous similarities as well as differences between both cultures. For instance,  in Canada, teenage independence is much higher than in Lebanon. As a teenager of 16 years of age, you're relied upon to get a job and not depend on your parents, while in Lebanon, teenagers cannot get a job until they reach 18years of age and are expected to stay with their parents until they get married. In addition, Canada is a much more organised country with a much better organised system. Lebanon, on the other hand, somehow manages to stay afloat in corruption and chaos. Last but not least, the Canadian culture is much more open to acceptance of people of different cultures, nationality and religion. The Lebanese culture however, needs to take great strides to accept others of different religion and nationality as they takes these aspects of oneself way too personal. However, even with many differences, t...
