Intercultural communication

I chose to compare the Labanese culture with the Italian culture.

Much like the Lebanese culture, the italian culture is steeped in the love and passion towards arts, family, architecture, music and food. Italians are some of the friendliest people you could meet and they are always willing to go the extra mile whenever they find someone who needs any kind of help. Lebanese people are also know for their generosity and hospitality, they always love to invite people over to have a great time and enjoy being around friends and family.

Good communication:

In Lebanon, people who are competent in intercultural communication are generally open minded and excepting of other's differences wether in social class, religious beliefs, educational level or political views. Plus, lebanese people are good listeners that are great at giving advice and enjoy helping others with their problems. In Italy, people who respect others without making them feel weird about themselves for being different are considered good communicators.

Bad communication:

In Lebanon, the most obvious reason of bad communication is judgement. Lebanese people almost always judge others by their relegion or their social class or even by their residential area, and label each person before they meet them or even have a conversation with them. In Italy, people are a little more open minded and are used to knowing people that come from very different backgrounds however they still suffer from being a relitively closed culture that prefer not to share with others.

Recommendations:

To improve intercultural communication, people have to become more understanding of others and remove all judgement from their thaughts. Sharing and learning different cultures benefits all parties involved and helps new generations of different countries and that come from different backgrounds to become closer.

Comparing Lebanon and Italy      Lebanon is the country where I have lived my whole life. It is located at the crossroads between the Arab world and the Mediterranean Basin, and as such it shares many similarities with other Mediterranean countries, like Spain, Greece and Italy . This is due to a common History those countries share, and consequently close cultures.      To start off, it would be interesting to give some basic information: according to recent statistics, Lebanon is 30 times smaller than Italy, and its population is currently 10 times less. But if we dwelve deeper into their respective cultures, we would be likely to find many similarities.   1- Language:    The Lebanese are known for being very efficient at learning languages. The average Lebanese can speak up to 3 languages: Arabic, French and English. Some are also fluent in Spanish, Italian, or German. Italians mostly speak Italian (97%), and a gre...

Kurdish Culture in comparison with Lebanese Culture

The Kurdish culture and the Lebanese culture are quite similar in many aspects including religion, hospitality, code of conduct, food and family. There are also vast differences like language, geography and music. Here I'll compare each aspect separately. Food Food is an important aspect because it defines a big part of culture. A society with their own types of food have a history and thus a strong and content culture. Both Kurdish people and Lebanese people are very proud of their special kinds of foods and they are both quite tasty. Traditional Kurdish food includes yaprakh, niskene, tapsi, shifta and makluba. Traditional lebanese food includes tabbouleh, fattoush, hummus, kebbeh and wine.  Kurdish Cuisine Lebanese Cuisine Religion Kurds are predominantly Sunni Muslim, however there are many other groups of religions including Yezdanism, Zoroastrianism, Christianity, and Judaism, so there is a lot of diversity. As I understand, Lebanon has a lot of ...
